Blue Ridge, Silverado fires getting contained as firefighters make steady progress

After days of battling the Silverado and Blue Ridge fires, firefighters on Friday, Oct. 30, again reported that they are making progress on containing the blazes that together sent thousands fleeing from their homes.
By Friday morning, the Silverado fire , largely east of Irvine, was 63% contained and holding at 13,390 acres, a size that had not changed in at least a day, according to Cal Fire.
The Blue Ridge fire‘s size was also halted at 14,334 acres but containment had increased to 47%.
