Best thing I ate: Who cooks like this anymore? Thankfully, Marché Moderne does

It bears repeating: There’s no better French bistro in Southern California than Marché Moderne in Newport Beach; no better stewards of classic French technique than Marché’s Florent and Amelia Marneau.
Case in point: Who else these days would go to the trouble of crafting a classic French pithivier (puff pastry pie) of black truffle, potato and housemade duck sausage as a mere side dish for a simply seared duck breast? Nobody else, that’s who.
