Bat with rabies found in Anaheim
A rabid bat was found Sunday, July 19, near a store entrance at 131 Katella Ave., in Anaheim.
The Orange County Health Care Agency on Friday confirmed the bat had tested positive for rabies.
Last September, a few bats with rabies were found in Anaheim and Orange, and a person reported coming into contact with one.
The virus is spread to people through bites and, sometimes, scratches by infected animals. Because bats have small teeth, their bites may go unnoticed.
