Bast provides Bob Baffert with eighth Del Mar Debutante victory

The ladies, both young and old, were in the spotlight Saturday at Del Mar as the 36-day summer meet begins to wind down.
The 2-year-old filly Bast, trained by Bob Baffert, gave the Hall of Fame trainer his eighth victory in the $300,000 Grade I Del Mar Debutante when she drew off in the stretch under jockey Drayden Van Dyke to beat favored Inspiressa by 8 3/4 lengths.
