Barefaced lies and forced separation

In a profession that requires elected officials to persuade constituents with different beliefs and priorities that they are on their side, politicians often shade the truth.  It part of the formula of success.
Partisans from both sides of the aisle choose facts and spin narratives that favors their preferred course of action.  This we know and expect.  But a democracy depends on truth being the primary currency of political debate.
President Donald J. Trump is in a league of his
