Ballestero named boys basketball coach at Esperanza

Anthony Ballestero is the new varsity boys basketball head coach at Esperanza.
It is his first high school head-coaching position.
Ballestero was Century League player of the year in the 2013-14 season when he also was named All-Orange County first team and went on to play at UC San Diego. He runs the Rock Solid club basketball program with his brother JoJo, who also was an outstanding Canyon player.
Ballestero replaces Mark Hill who retired this past season, Hill’s 18th as Aztecs coach.
