Auto accident causes power outage in Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa

Two people were rescued after their vehicles crashed into a power pole in Huntington Beach and became tangled in electrical wires Monday, causing a power outage for thousands of customers, officials said.
One driver was airlifted to a hospital with injuries and the other was apparently uninjured after the crash around 6:30 p.m. at Ward Street and Yorktown Avenue, said Huntington Beach Police Lt. David Dereszynski.
