Authorities identify San Diego man killed in freeway crash in Irvine

Orange County Coroner’s Office officials have identified a 36-year-old San Diego man who died Friday in a single-vehicle crash on 405 Freeway in Irvine.
Carey Bruce was killed shortly after 3 a.m. Friday when his SUV crashed into a tree on the shoulder of the southbound 405, near the Irvine Center Drive off-ramp.
According to a California Highway Patrol report, Bruce was driving a Chevy Tahoe southbound on the freeway when he abruptly turned the SUV to the right toward the edge of the road
