Aruajo’s task: Build a national softball team in 7 weeks

The clock is ticking and Jorge Araujo knows it. He feels it with every glance at the calendar, with every conversation with the rest of his coaching brain trust; heck, with every mention or every sight of the word, “Irvine.”
It is mid-June and Araujo has roughly seven weeks left to do what isn’t impossible, mind you, but mind-bending in its complexity. He has seven weeks to put together a national softball team,
