Art Hoffman, longtime Lakers statistician, dead at 91

Art Hoffman, a prominent figure in Southern California press boxes for parts of eight decades, passed away Monday. He was 91.
Hoffman, a Los Angeles High grad and World World II vet, was the Lakers’ statistician from 1979 to 2002. He was also Cal State LA’s sports information director in the late 1940s and early 50s.
