Applied Medical completes mega-install of solar array

Applied Medical, a surgical device maker, has finished work on a 2.94-megawatt solar system at its headquarters in Rancho Santa Margarita.
The system was designed and built by REC Solar and consists of rooftop arrays on eight buildings. Combined, they will generate almost 5 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually, enough to power more than 370 homes, or about 15 percent of the facility’s energy.
