Apple Valley toddler, 2, accidentally shot while father cleaned firearm, authorities say

An Apple Valley toddler was hospitalized Wednesday night after she was accidentally shot in the stomach by her father as he cleaned his handgun, San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials said.
The shooting was reported just before 11:30 p.m. in the 16100 block of Viho Road, officials said.
Paramedics flew the young girl to a trauma center.
“The child is out of surgery and is now in the intensive care unit,” according to a news release.
