Angels to place Alex Meyer on DL with back spasms

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Angels will place Alex Meyer on the 10-day disabled list with back spasms, giving the ball instead to Daniel Wright for Meyer’s scheduled start Thursday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays, general manager Billy Eppler said Wednesday morning.
Reliever Brooks Pounders will be recalled to take Meyer’s spot for Wednesday’s game at Tampa Bay.
