Angels Notes: Yunel Escobar close to returning to Angels lineup

MIAMI — The Angels are close to having a key piece of their lineup back.
Yunel Escobar, who was expected to be out two to four weeks with a strained hamstring, is nearing a return, which would be in the early portion of that window.
Escobar, who last played on May 13, has been hitting, taking ground balls and running the bases. Manager Mike Scioscia said he’ll be evaluated when they return to Southern California, starting a series Monday against the Atlanta Braves.
