Angels Notes: Mike Trout undergoes successful surgery

ANAHEIM — The Angels moved a significant step closer to getting Mike Trout back, although it might be no sooner than expected.
Trout on Wednesday underwent successful surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and dorsal capsule of his left thumb, the Angels announced.
The timeline for return is still six to eight weeks, they said.
