Angels Notes: Garrett Richards remains optimistic while waiting for return

ANAHEIM — Garrett Richards’ daily routine is a struggle between optimism and frustration.
Optimism that he will pitch again, hopefully this season.
Frustration that he’s now missed more than three months and still is not even cleared to throw a baseball.
“I’m going on two years of not playing baseball … it (stinks),” Richards said Friday. “It’s frustrating every day, but what are you going to do about it?”
