Angels non-tender Patrick Sandoval, making him a free agent

Left-hander Patrick Sandoval, the Angels’ Opening Day starter last season, was one of four players who became a free agent by being non-tendered before Friday’s 5 p.m. PT deadline.
Sandoval, who is rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, would have made about $6 million in arbitration if the Angels had tendered him a contract. The Angels can still negotiate with Sandoval.
