Angels’ Griffin Canning optimistic after receiving injection in sore elbow

TEMPE, Ariz. — Griffin Canning returned to Angels camp Saturday morning with an elbow full of healing fluid and an optimistic attitude.
Canning, who said he received a platelet rich plasma injection Friday in an effort to help his bothersome elbow, said he’s heartened that tests have not shown any structural damage.
“There’s no joint (issues), no ligament issues,” Canning said. “It’s just kind of some stuff rubbing against each other in there. So hopeful
