LOS ANGELES—The first indicator, the sign that something truly special might be about to take place, came this past March 10, in College Station, Texas.
The NCAA’s indoor track and field championship is, to be sure, an appetizer. Some schools don’t field indoor teams, some do but don’t take it terribly seriously, some consider it important preparation for the outdoor season.
