553 arrested by LAPD during Friday night protests in Los Angeles

More than 500 people were arrested Friday night after peaceful protests over the death of George Floyd turned destructive, authorities said Saturday, May 30.
Police were still assessing the full extent of the damage Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Of the 533 people arrested Friday night into Saturday morning, 18 of them remained in jail Saturday afternoon, while the rest were released on their own recognizance, police said.
