It’s safe and relatively easy to transplant roses from now until just after New Year. Cut back the tops to about twelve inches and remove all foliage. Dig down at least eight inches away from the trunk and deep enough to keep most of the larger roots. Shake off all the soil then replant at the same depth in the new location.
