1 Watering strategies
As temperatures rise, irrigate your garden and landscape in the evening or early in the morning, but not in the middle of the day.
Allow water to run long enough to soak in deeply, then turn it off. Plants use the most water when temperatures are high, when a breeze blows, during flowering or as fruit is developing. Container plants usually need more frequent watering than those in the ground.
