40 vehicles suffer flat tires from spilled nails on 91 freeway

CORONA An estimated 40 vehicles were stranded mid-day Thursday on the eastbound 91 freeway after suffering flat tires after running over nails, the California Highway Patrol said.
The 11 a.m. incident left vehicles stranded over a 10-mile stretch, from the Weir Canyon Road to McKinley Street exit, said California Highway Patrol Officer Florentino Olivera.
It appears that the nails were accidentally dropped by a construction crew vehicle.
