NFL teams don’t draft running backs early anymore — except when they do.
Forgive the tautology, but such is the nature of what was once considered a premium position. Franchises are happy to roll out backfield committees, unless they’re convinced they’re about to draft a franchise-defining back. And recently, the pendulum has been swinging in favor of the workhorses.
