15 sheep on Highway 79 struck, killed in Winchester

Several sheep were killed this morning when they were struck by a truck in Winchester.
The crash occurred around 3:05 a.m. on state Route 79 near Domenigoni Parkway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
It wasn’t immediately clear why the sheep were in the roadway but at least 15 sheep were killed, according to reports from the scene.
The westbound lanes were closed for the investigation but reopened before 4 a.m.
