15 more OC sheriff’s deputies considered for criminal charges in evidence scandal

An expanded internal audit has identified another 15 Orange County sheriff’s deputies who mishandled evidence to the point of potentially warranting criminal charges, Sheriff Don Barnes announced Friday.
That brings to 30 the number of deputies considered for charges in the aftermath of an earlier audit that found deputies were booking evidence late or often not at all.
