Wounded Warrior Project scandal may have local connection

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo — One of the country’s largest charities for veterans is facing a big scandal that may involve Colorado Springs.
The wounded warrior’s foundation was criticized over how they spent more than $800 million in donations over the last four years.
Both the CEO and COO were fired by the charities board because of this scandal.
It all stems from how much they spent on conferences and meetings since 2010.
In that year they spent $1.7 million for those meetings.
