Warrant: Inmate used shaved handcuff key to unlock shackles, escape

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An MDC inmate used a shaved handcuff key to unlock his leg shackles, according to an arrest warrant, before kicking out a window to a transport bus and taking off. Police say he eventually killed himself Wednesday night as they were tracking him down.
According to the warrant, MDC officers said music was blaring on the bus and there was so much talking, it was “difficult to hear all of the inmates.”
