Warm weekend and a potential wintery weather next week

The brief blast of cooler air New Mexico felt earlier this week is already gone. Heading into the weekend the state can expect temperatures upwards of 20 degrees above average.
A high pressure system is forming to the south of New Mexico today. The high pressure is strengthening and amplifying an upper level ridge. This amplifying ridge is responsible for the significantly warmer temperatures we can expect today through Saturday. The largest temperature increases are across eastern New Mexico. T
