Warm Friday before a weekend winter storm

Friday is primed to be the warmest day of this week. The unseasonable warmth coming right before a winter storm.
A high pressure system formed over the Pacific Northwest in the middle of this week. The high pressure has since stretched over the Rocky Mountains towards New Mexico. This high pressure has caused sinking air over the state of New Mexico. Sinking air heats up. This has led to warmer temperatures through the end of this week.
