Village left heartbroken by Hatch officer’s murder

HATCH, N.M. (KRQE) – Hundreds came out to a vigil held Saturday night in honor of murdered Hatch police officer Jose Chavez.
Among those in attendance, the village’s police chief, its mayor and Ofc. Chavez’s family.
“I can’t believe it yet,” said Chavez’s sister Patricia Ramirez. “I keep hoping that they’ll tell us this isn’t real and… we miss him alot.”
