Vehicle seizure law to take effect on Friday

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Bernalillo County’s vehicle seizure law takes effect on Friday.
That means if drivers drag-race, they could lose their car.
The new ordinance declares illegal street or drag racing a public nuisance. Vehicles used in these illegal activities can be taken away at the scene by law enforcement officers.
An administrative hearing will then determine if the vehicle was properly seized.
The law applies in the unincorporated areas of Bernalillo County.
