Type-1 team to take over Dog Head firefighting efforts Sunday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Sunday morning at 6 a.m. the Type-1 team will take over the firefighting efforts in the Manzano Mountains.
This will increase the nearly 1,000 people working on the fire.
Overnight, Southwest Incident Management said the burn area is just over 17,600 acres, but containment is now at 9-percent.
Damage assessments still show that 24 homes have been destroyed along with 21 other minor structures. Saturday night crews patrolled fire lines and assisted in protection.
