Tumbleweeds create wall near Kirtland Air Force Base

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The weather led to a bizarre scene in Albuquerque on Friday. While residents are used to seeing waves of tumbleweeds invade the city out on the West Mesa, it was strange to see them so close to the metro.
The wall of tumbleweeds on Wyoming, just outside of the Kirtland Air Force Base, stood about 7 feet tall and spanned the width of two lanes of traffic, creating quite the attraction for motorists.
