Timberon Fire 60% contained, road closures lifted

OTERO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Fire officials for the Timberon Fire are meeting Sunday as mop-up operations are continuing.
Officials sent an update Sunday saying that the fire was in the mop-up stage and that the fire was at 268 acres with 60 percent containment.
Firefighters will have a meeting at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Timberon Volunteer Fire Department to discuss the transition to the Pecos Type 3 team. Residents are encouraged to attend to hear what they can expect.
