Timberon Fire 15% contained, forest officials confirm 67 structures lost

OTERO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Crews are making progress as they continue to fight the Timberon Fire south of Cloudcroft.
Officials say the fire is now 15 percent contained. They’ve also bumped up the number of structures destroyed to 67. That includes at least 31 homes.
The fire has burned through nearly 300 acres.
Thursday during a press conference Governor Susana Martinez emphasized losing a home is tragic, but saving lives is more important.
