Task force pushing dangers of ditches and arroyos

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Rescue crews in Albuquerque are no strangers to arroyo and ditch rescues. While there have not been any drowning deaths in the last five years in ditches or arroyos, they have been working hard to prevent one from happening again.
“Obviously the risk of flash floods here in Albuquerque so there’s a lot of inherent risk and danger that comes with swimming in ditches and arroyos,” said Brandon Gibson, City of Albuquerque Aquatic Manager.
