Study: HPV vaccine lowering infection rates
(CNN) – The rates of HPV infection seem to have dropped, since the CDC recommended a vaccine.
Researchers at the CDC just published a new study on human papillomavirus, also known as HPV.
The study looks at four types of the virus – two of which are responsible for 66-percent of cervical cancers in the United States.
In just six years, researchers saw the rate of infection among teenage girls drop from 11.5 percent to 4.3 percent.
