Strong winds and increased fire threat to start the weekend
A storm system passing over to our north will bring high winds through the afternoon to New Mexico. Westerly winds will gust anywhere from 35 to 55 mph. Blowing dust and a high fire danger is possible for the majority of the state. Even warmer temperatures will move in with the winds as well, with a record high temperature possible in Albuquerque.
