State Police investigating fatal pedestrian crash

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Friday night.
Police say the crash happened at about 7:45 p.m. on US 380, east of Roswell. The victim is identified as Joseph Chavez (32), from Roswell.
A preliminary investigation shows that Chavez was in the travel lanes and struck by a westbound vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
