State Police identify suspect involved in chase through Belen

BELEN, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are investigating after an apparent officer-involved shooting in Belen.
Investigators continue to piece together what happened. NMSP says an officer stopped to check on a black Nissan Altima on State Road 60 east of mile marker 166 around 8:30 a.m.
However, the driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Mykl Chavez, fled from the officer, causing a chase.
