State lawmaker cleared of ethics complaint

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) – New Mexico Secretary of State Brad Winter has determined that a republican state representative did not violate any campaign laws.
The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that Winter announced in a letter dated Sept. 30 that Rep. Sarah Maestas Barns, R-Albuquerque, made the appropriate changes to her financial disclosure forms and therefore did not warrant any penalties.
