State Democrats propose pay hike for state workers, teachers

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – State Democrats are proposing an across the board pay hike for state workers and teachers.
Santa Fe democrat Lucky Varela wants about $44 million in next year’s budget to pay for a 1-percent raise.
The governor is proposing more targeted pay hikes for police officers, starting teachers, correctional officers and other hard to hire positions.
