Some New Mexico lawmakers push for change to electoral college

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Some New Mexico lawmakers have recently voiced support for a measure to allow states to work around the electoral college.
The push is gaining steam since Hillary Clinton won the national popular vote, but lost the electoral vote to President-elect Donald Trump.
Most of the lawmakers supporting the idea are Democrats.
Other states making a push include Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
