Sen. Tom Udall to support free tax prep legislation

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – U.S. Senator Tom Udall is putting his support behind legislation for a free tax prep system through the IRS.
Senator Elizabeth Warren is expected to file it Wednesday. The legislation would make it mandatory for the IRS to create a free online system, that way tax payers could file with the government directly.
The bill would also ban the IRS from working with for profit tax prep companies.
