Search and rescue teams simulate plane crash for practice

It happened twice in three days last week, where crews were called to the Sandias for a search and rescue operation. Those missions occur several times every year and while most lost or injured hikers are safely rescued, depending on the severity; some hikers are left hospitalized or even dead.
