Scientist slams EPA’s slow response to mine spill

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Parts of New Mexico could be facing long-term damage from the Gold King Mine Spill that happened last year.
The Albuquerque Journal reports that scientist Rich Dembowski told residents at a meeting Monday that metals, particularly lead, will wash downstream from the spring run off and spread to other parts of New Mexico and Colorado. He says it’s possible the metals will be taken up in the food chain.
Demowski also slammed the EPA’s slow response
