Roosevelt County proposes multi-county jail

CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) – A New Mexico county is considering a study on whether it’s feasible for one jail to serve four counties.
The Clovis News Journal reports that Roosevelt County Attorney Randy Knudson has asked Curry County officials to consider delaying their plans for a jail expansion until they can hold a discussion on a multi-county facility. Knudson wrote that each county could benefit from cost savings.
Curry County commissioners are expected to discuss the issue Tuesday.
