Rio Rancho remembers fallen Police Officer Nigel Benner

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Wednesday marks one year since Rio Rancho Police Officer Nigel Benner was shot and killed while making a routine traffic stop.
The City of Rio Rancho and the Rio Rancho Police Department will gather to honor Benner and all fallen officers of Sandoval County on Wednesday.
The event will get underway at the Veteran’s Memorial Park at 5 p.m where officers will dedicate a new memorial statue.
