Return to average temperatures before a winter weekend storm

Temperatures are continuing their warming trend across New Mexico this afternoon. These gradual increases today are due to the Rex Block that is in place over the Pacific Coast. The resulting upper air flow allows for temperatures in New Mexico to increase.
Temperatures this afternoon will be warming to slightly below average temperature.
Clear and sunny skies are expected to continue throughout the rest of the day. Overnight cloud cover will roll in to the southern regions of the state.
